Exit Interview

1. Comment about your work ethic in this course and why.
 ...be honest here

I had a solid work ethic during the course because I enjoyed it, but near the end it started to decline

 2. Which assignments did you enjoy and why?
... list them out

Photoshop: It was fun editing pictures and learning how to use the software

and Premiere pro for the same reasons, but with video editing.

SketchUp: 3D modeling was cool

 3. Which assignments did you struggle with and why?
...list them out

Raft: I didn't enjoy the game that much due to the fact that you'd be progressing and then just hit a brick wall because you don't have enough of a certain item to make anymore stuff to improve your raft.

Thunkable: That man's voice is a torture method

Game Journalism: Day 4

Upgrade or Nah?

Fishing rod?

Upgrade if you got the grill to use it

It catches bigger fish which provide more, but can't be cooked on the small grill.
It also looks nicer.

Hook?

Upgrade it ASAP my guy

The upgraded hook lasts longer and pulls in faster than the plastic one. It can also be thrown farther.

This needs 3 more dry bricks before it can continue

Game Journalism: Play Day 4

If I were to start over what would I do?

  1. Collect resources with the hook (especially barrels cause they have food sometimes)
  2. Expand my raft so I can put things down and just have more space in general
  3. Step 1 again
  4. Make a water purifier so I can make drinkable water
  5. Step 1 again
  6. Make a simple grill so I can cook food
  7. step 1 again
  8. Make a fishing rod for easy access to food
  9. Step 1 again
  10. Make a few nets so I don't have to do step 1 again

What is the best tool for survival?

Probably a water purifier, since you can't really get water anywhere else and it's necessary to live.

What's the best feature on my raft?

My favourite thing on my raft is the little net that collects stuff so I don't have to. It lets me build more without having to constantly throw my hook.

Raft

What did I do today?

Today I made a sail and tried to figure out how it works. I'm still not 100% sure because it seems as if it just goes in the direction you point it, but then sometimes it doesn't. There may be some wind mechanic involved or something. I also managed to visit some of the other rafts that can be seen floating near you thanks to the sail.

What did I learn?

I learned that the sail goes in the direction you send it until you get too close to something useful, then your probably supposed to drop an anchor and swim over. Also fishing is the #1 way to get food.

What am I going to do tomorrow?

Probably try to get an anchor or seventeen and explore some islands & the shallow waters around them

My Raft

I added a sail so I could visit islands and I added stairs to start expanding upwards. I have a hole in the middle so that A) it's easier to get water for the purifier, & B) so that if I have an anchor down there the shark is less likely to eat that square
